Accountant Intern

Role Description

The Accounting/Bookkeeping Intern position at Ukuzimanya in the City of Cape Town is a full-time, on-site role. The intern will assist with various accounting tasks such as data entry, invoicing, and reconciliation, while supporting the preparation of financial reports and statements. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and participating in budget preparation and audits. This role is ideal for someone currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting or Finance, with a basic understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong attention to detail. The intern will work closely with the finance team to enhance financial processes and ensure smooth operations.

Skills /Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop in the field of accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including data entry, invoicing, and reconciliation.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Help maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Participate in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
