Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Specialist
Role Description
This role is essential for safeguarding an organization’s data and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
Responsibilities
- Implement and Manage DLP Solutions: Deploy and maintain DLP tools to monitor and protect sensitive data across the organization.
- Policy Development: Develop and enforce data protection policies and procedures.
- Incident Response: Investigate and respond to data loss incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential data loss vulnerabilities.
- Training and Awareness: Educate employees on data protection best practices and DLP policies.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT, security and compliance teams to integrate DLP strategies into broader security initiatives
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field would be beneficial. Must have -SC-900T00-A.
- Experience: 3-5 year’s experience in Data Security, with a focus on DLP.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with DLP tools such as MS Purview and others, understanding of encryption, data classification and network security.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM) are preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
